Hi, I'm Rhonda
I started The Well-Loved Shelf because I kept noticing the same thing happening across Brevard County. Women everywhere, reading romance every night, staying up too late for one more chapter, texting each other screenshots of the scenes that wrecked them. And absolutely nowhere local to browse, chat, and bring those books home from. So I built the place I wanted to find.
Here's the thing. I was a romance reader long before I was a bookseller. I know the feeling of finishing a book at 2 a.m. and lying there, just staring at the ceiling, not ready to be done yet. And I also know the feeling of walking into a big-box store and finding one lonely shelf of romance shoved into a back corner, covers half-hidden, like the genre is something to be embarrassed about. I wanted to build the opposite of that. A shelf where these books get the care they deserve, recommended by someone who actually read them.
So that's what we are. A mobile romance bookstore that comes to you, shelf and all. I bring books to markets, bridal showers, bachelorette weekends, backyard book clubs, anywhere women are gathering and want to read something that feels alive. Whether you want a soft small-town sweet romance or a dark romance that makes you close the book and breathe for a second, there's a place for you here. No judgment. No apologies. Just the right book for the mood you're in.

The Well-Loved Shelf is a Rhonda Smith bookstore, built in 2026. The idea was simple. Brevard County readers deserved a place to browse romance that felt chosen, not stocked. I read every title before it lands on the cart. No distributor filler.
I focus the shelf on five reader-favorite corners of adult romance fiction. Fantasy romance and romantasy. Dark romance. Shifter romance. Sports romance. New adult. If you reach for one of those shelves on a Sunday night, you already know why the selection matters.
The Well-Loved Shelf is licensed in Florida as The Well-Loved Shelf LLC. Based in Brevard County, serving the Space Coast. Melbourne, Viera, Cocoa, Palm Bay, and Titusville every week. Community markets, private events, and book club visits by request.
